Bachmann Misreads House Health Bill To Claim ‘Whatever Health Care You Have Now’ Will Be Gone In 5 Years
On Tuesday, three separate House committees — Ways and Means Committee, Energy and Commerce Committee, Education and Labor Committee — released a single health care reform bill, the American Affordable Healthy Choices Act. An analysis by the non-partisan Congressional Budget Officefound that the legislation would cost $1 trillion over 10 years and cover 94 percent of Americans (97% if you don’t countundocumented immigrants).

PolitiFact | Michele Bachmann claims ACORN getting money to work for Census Bureau
PolitiFact | Michele Bachmann claims ACORN getting money to work for Census Bureau
So let's count the ways Bachmann is wrong:
ACORN will not be "in charge" of going door-to-door and collecting data from the American public, as Bachmann said. The U.S. Census will be in charge of that. Some of the 1.4 million people who get Census-taking jobs may learn about the job through ACORN. Workers who apply to the Census through ACORN have no better shot at the job than those who apply through any of the 30,000 other partners. That's it.
And despite Bachmann's claim, ACORN gets no money for signing on as a partner.
Once again, she is making a scaremongering claim about ACORN with facts that are ridiculously wrong. So we have to set the meter on fire once again. She earns another Pants on Fire.

PolitiFact | Michelle Bachmann claims Constitution only requires you to answer how many people are in your household
Bachmann is not only wrong here, she is engaging in fearmongering that encourages people to break the law. And in doing so, she's falsely telling people that the Constitution would support them. In fact, the Washington Times reporter followed her answer by saying, "Well, I'm going to take your hint then and that'll save me some time." And so we feel it's necessary to rate this one Pants on Fire.

Bachmann falsely
Bachmann falsely stated ACORN faces criminal charges
On Wednesday, the House Financial Services Committee passed an amendment Bachmann offered to the Mortgage Reform and Anti-Predatory Lending Act, which would ban groups facing federal indictment for voter fraud from receiving federal foreclosure relief funds.
Bachmann praised the passage of her amendment, writing, “Before we commit anymore taxpayers’ dollars, I want to ensure that organizations, such as ACORN, are prohibited from receiving funds while simultaneously facing charges of voter fraud and tax violations. Although I do not support the underlying legislation, I am pleased that the Committee took these measures to provide some layer of protection for taxpayers.”

Bachmann: Obama’s Policies Are Fitting America’s 19 And 20-Year-Olds ‘With Shackles And Chains’
BACHMANN: Well, I tell you what I am concerned about are the current 19 and 20-year-olds that are going to hold this debt. And it’s the mother of all ironies, John and Brian, that the kids who voted en masse for Barack Obama are the ones being fitted with shackles and chains. And they’re going to wake up one morning and find out that their tax rate is 65% or higher. Who is going to get out of bed in the morning if you realize that two-thirds or more of your day is spent earning money? You are working for Uncle Sam and you keep very little.
